Schubert Die schöne Müllerin

Now, at the climax of a two-year exploration of Schubert’s late piano music, Paul Lewis returns to his home city for a series of concerts that explore the full range of Schubert’s mature genius. In performances of two of Schubert’s great song-cycles - Die Schöne Müllerin and the devastating Winterreise - he resumes his acclaimed partnership with tenor Mark Padmore. Whether you hear the whole series, or just one concert, make sure you experience what promises to be one of the artistic events of the decade.

An evening of Medieval Christmas Carols, from instrumental dances to Middle English lullabies.

Joglaresa are a medieval band that brings the sounds of another age back to vibrantly entertaining life in a fully costumed performance. They will introduce dance tunes, traditional carols and old English lullabies, using vielles, harps, voices and bells - Joglaresa introduce you to Yuletide, the really old-fashioned way!

Monday to Saturday 9.30am (for phone bookings) / 10am (for counter bookings) – 5.30pm, and for counter bookings up to 15 minutes after the start of the performance on concert nights.

Sunday 12noon – 5pm for telephone bookings only when there is no concert, and for counter bookings from 5.30pm on concert nights.

Directions to St George’s Hall Concert Room

St George’s Hall is on William Brown Street in Liverpool city centre, directly opposite Lime Street Station. Access to the Concert Room is via the entrance on William Brown Street at the north end of the building.

On entering the city follow signs for Lime Street train station.
There is car parking around Lime Street

Public Transport

Queen’s Square Bus Station and Lime Street Station are both less than 5 minutes walk away.

Parking Your Car

1. St Johns Shopping Centre Car Park
We have a special £2 parking offer at this safe and securely manned car park with CCTV and close access to St George's Hall. Access to the car park is via Skelhorne Street. The discounted price is available after 5pm until midnight. Patrons should enter the main car park (do not park in the pay and display area) and go through the barrier taking a ticket to park on level 1A or above. When leaving the car park after the performance, you must hand your car parking ticket and your concert ticket stub to the cashier at the car park exit. You will then be charged the £2 tariff. Payment method is by cash or cheque only.

2. Queens Square Car Park
A multi-story car park open 24 hours. Evening rate for parking after 6pm is £3 for the first four hours, and then the charge goes up to £5 for over four hours.

3. NCP Lord Nelson Street
NCP multi-story car park open 24 hours. Evening parking rate after 6pm is £3.50. Please note that this car park is often very busy with Empire Theatre customers.
